Endocrinology is the specialty that is concerned with the endocrine system - the system that controls hormones. Endocrinologists are specially trained physicians who diagnose diseases related to the glands.  The endocrinologist's goal is to restore hormonal balance in the body.

For most people their problems occur because they either produce too much or have too little of a particular hormone. Deficiency of a hormone can cause symptoms that are difficult to diagnose, can make you feel unwell and can have a significant impact on your day to day life.
