Our private women’s health clinic offers a range of healthcare services for women in a safe and supportive environment. One of our leading services is our comprehensive women’s health check. This is a thorough examination by one of our Consultant Gynaecologists, giving you peace of mind you are in safe and supportive hands. 

This examination is recommended to be carried out yearly, so any illnesses or abnormalities can be picked up at an early stage to ensure swift diagnosis and treatment.

From the age of 40 it is very important that all women should be more vigilant and responsible regarding their own health.

What to Expect During Your Women’s Health Check

Before the physical examination, the gynaecologist will ask you some pre examination questions about your overall health. This is so they can get a better understanding of your condition and provide the best treatment. 

These questions may cover topics including:

- Medical history and family medical history

- Sexual health

- Physical activity and eating habits

- Use of tobacco and alcohol

- Lifestyle

- Mental health history 

- Relationships

There are many reasons why you may want a private women’s health check. Whether you are simply looking for a routine female health check up or to discuss specific symptoms, our expert gynaecologists are here to help.

We offer a range of different services as part of the health check which include:

- Consultation with a Consultant Gynaecologist

- Thorough examination including

- Pelvic examination

- Targeted pelvic Ultrasound scan of the womb & ovaries

- HRT advice (if required)

- Measuring weight and height and calculating your body mass index (BMI)

- Obesity and weight advice/nutrition advice

Optional Additional Test:

We also offer a range of other tests and treatment options which include:

- Breast Screening: Referral provided for women over 50 in Northern Ireland.

- Cervical Screening Test: Important for detecting HPV, the primary cause of cervical cancer and genital warts.

- STD Testing: Chlamydia, gonorrhoea, HIV, Hepatitis A & B, syphilis screenings.

- Colorectal Cancer Screening: Referral if advised by our gynaecologist.

- Osteoporosis Screening: Referral for DEXA scan.

- CA125 Blood Test: For ovarian, fallopian tube or primary peritoneal cancer detection and monitoring. 

- Hormone Profiling: Tests including luteinizing hormone, follicle-stimulating hormone and oestradiol-17B.

- Blood Pressure and Diabetes Testing: Includes urine test and glucose blood test.

- Cholesterol and Full Blood Picture: Comprehensive blood tests.

- Urinalysis.

Booking and Pricing Information

The cost for the woman’s health check at Orthoderm is £320, collected in advance or on the day. This includes the health check, with additional tests available as required. You can find out more about our pricing here.
